ANTIBODIES. Making-of of the exhibition assembly

We present here a video of the assembly that we have made of the exhibition design of the work of the Bell Brothers at the headquarters of the Barrie Foundation from Vigo and A Coruña. And it could be visited from July 1 to September 26, 2010.

Since our visit to Vitra Design Museum In February 2010 we have been working on an exhibition concept based on collage as a technique used by the Campanas to bring together diverse materials taken from natural and urban contexts. We have used its visual and formal pieces to bring together spatial fragments, atmospheres in which color, air volume and textures make the visitor participate in various experiences, transitions between the artificial and the natural. Between urban jungles and the recycling of their waste, and natural jungles as a place of discovery and obtaining resources.

In a world where technology and consumption are advocated, the objects and designs of these Brazilian brothers are based on artisanal work processes, betting on tradition, identity and local means and resources. The result does not matter if it is useful or beautiful, its recycled pieces are very expensive but its teachings are very accessible, its interest for us does not lie in the quality of its design, but in exemplifying how manual work and the gathering of waste fragments can offer us multiple everyday uses, recovering something that has been lost due to the extension of consumption of any object or desire.
