Luis Barragan. Natures of the limit

In May 2010 we were lucky enough to have a conference by the architect Cruz López Viso at the school on the work of the Mexican architect. Luis Barragan. It is not easy to approach the analysis of space through the volume of air that encloses it, much less try to explain the perception and experience of a place, which Cruz achieves with passion and rigor. We have to thank him for his patience in breaking down the context of the work into sequences that illustrate the mechanisms of space production.

The time we live in preserves the heritage of creation processes that turn our way of living into a diverse experience; however, much of today's architecture forgets this way of building and living due to the immediate consumption of space. It is appreciated, as Cruz does, that we are reminded of the need for pause and awareness to perceive who we are and how the spaces we use to relate can be better.

Below are the three videos into which the conference is divided:

1st PART. INTRODUCTION. Historical Framework

2nd PART. BARRAGAN HOUSE in TACUBAYA

3rd PART. GILARDI HOUSE. Colloquium
