INFO
We arise spontaneously, out of the need to recount the many changes we experience, we already see those for which we cannot find an answer. We are from a generation that spends our youth in transit, inhabitants of many places without much space to grow in our country. We look for answers to share them and get to know each other better. The desire to stop and take stock of our trips has temporarily brought us back loaded with exchange projects.
The idea of organizing a publishing house arises in us as a need to get closer to diverse realities and people who are carrying out a work that does not find a channel of expression for their knowledge. We are interested in knowledge, not recognition. We are interested in those who think and work in silence. We are interested in publishing everything that represents an example for improving the quality of life of people, and encourages reflection on the transformations of the territory, the new ways of living, the places in which this happens, how we live and how we could live. better.
This editorial is one more reason to learn about our reality. In a world saturated with images and information, it is increasingly difficult for us to find our own voices with our own opinions; it seems that those who do not expose themselves do not think and do not have the right to give their opinion. There are many wordless worlds and realities, hidden from everyone's eyes. We want to open a door for everyone who has something to tell, and for those like us who have difficulty doing so.
We are a publishing house that is dedicated to publishing architecture and the transformation of the territory. We work from Galicia, an Atlantic country drawn by water, clouds and rain, a place with a dense culture, complex and varied in its territorial forms, old because of the landscape that supports us, new because of the current processes of extension of the urbanization and by the expressions that transform us at great speed. Here and outside of here, little or nothing is being told to us about what is happening to us, about what the future consequences of these transformations are. There are many things that happen to us and people who work calmly and offer answers. We want to bring them all together and show what they do, to get to know each other better, and add one more chapter to the study of the diversity of expressions and forms of construction of the territory.
We have organized our publisher's website as an OBSERVATORY on our territorial and housing reality, so that it allows us to exchange and show everything that represents an example in improving the quality of life of people, and encourages reflection on the transformations of the territory , the new ways of living, the places in which this happens, how we live and how we could live better.
This OBSERVATORY is a space open to the public, a debate forum, a meeting place for discussion between different disciplines, to bring together in real time the dynamics that are being created around access to housing and the balance of the territory, in the architecture, and the culture of cities.
This OBSERVATORY is part of the activities generated by EDICIONS SPONTANEAS and the architecture firm garcía-somoza architects, directed by Toni García and Yolanda Somoza. It groups the information we produce with images and videos organized in the following sections:
